The first light snowfall last night reminds me of the passage into winter. Anticipation, preparation, gatherings, and precious niches of quietude. Looking out into the bright white frosted city, there is a quality of silence, even though people are carrying on with their routines; there is a stoic intention to meet the challenges this season brings.
