Skillful Alignment to Advance Your Yoga Practice with Chris and Karen
August 18, 2015Yoga Nidra Workshop with Alissa Martin
August 29, 2015Sensations, our consciousness, and energy are constantly moving through our body like winds that gust and blow in all directions. Our yoga practice fine tunes our awareness to notice these subtle movements in the body, the mind, our relationships, and our environment. Through practice we can skillfully direct the flow of these energies with asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing) and meditation. Practices of Yoga (integration) allow us a clear lens to observe the inner happening of these internal winds.
In this 2 part workshop you will explore the different sensations of the 5 vayus of the body.
Session 1
Sunday Nov 1st – 12pm – 1:30pm
Session 1 will entail an asana practice to physically move the winds within the body. Certain types of yoga postures bring sensations that allow the winds of the body to be experienced. Movement of the vayus (winds), on a subtle level, will be experienced by our nerves, bones, and each cell of the body.
Session 2
Sunday Nov 1st – 2pm – 3:30pm
Session 2 will entail a quiet and relaxed pranayama practice followed with a deep relaxation and finishing with a seated meditation. Using simple breathing techniques to guide the Prana to flow to each cell of the body the natural pattern of the Vayus can be experienced. With relaxation the winds flow freely sending a calming breeze throughout the mind and body. With meditation we can start to break down the separation between ourselves and the external environment actually yoking with our surroundings.
Registration
$25 + tax for 1 workshop or $45 + tax for both
